City Council Zoning Chair Wants Input on Development

City Council Zoning Chair Ikaika Anderson is holding an informal meeting Tuesday at 4 p.m. for stakeholders, supporters and opponents of a second 350-foot condominium-hotel tower on Kuhio Avenue. The meeting is in the City Council's second-floor committee room at Honolulu Hale. A development company wants a variance from the city to allow it to build a 39-story, 350-foot building at 2139 Kuhio Avenue. That's 50 feet taller than is allowed in the Waikiki Special Design District. Anderson's committee will vote on the request Thursday.
